The Easter Parade photo is from the Daily Mail. The young lad clinging to the police horse had been rescued from the oncoming procession having got through the barriers into the path of the parade. KW had been asked by the British Cycling Federation to mount a display showing the various facets of cycling. Roger Mitchell is riding on my right. The leading rider is Jim Barrett and behind him to the left is Terry Smith. Both were good junior riders who didn't keep their interest in the sport as seniors. The rider at the back is Pete Lombardelli who was representing 'Touring' hence the absence of racing kit. The Bedford van with the number 2 on the windscreen was painted in the blue and white of the club and was our unofficial team vehicle - ask Roger about the trip to Devon for the Royal Navy CC '50' in September 1967!
