Club Kit

The club has its own cycle clothing, exclusive to members. It is made by Nalini, an Italian supplier to several professional cycling teams and cycling clubs alike.

Prices
The kit is made in Italy and the exchange rate is a factor but we've worked with the UK distributor to keep prices down as far as possible. The club makes no profit on the kit, give or take the rounding up and down of prices.

Stock
We keep items in stock and aim to refresh supplies roughly twice a year. If you want kit, then get in touch with the kit guys as it can sell out quickly. As a club, we keep a stock of basic items like shorts, jerseys, caps and socks in various sizes. We also place two orders per year for seasonal items like winter clothing or skinsuits for summer time trials but can't keep as many of these specialist items in stock.

Socks and Caps
Socks: All blue with Kingston Wheelers band. Caps: dark blue with Kingston Wheelers printed in white above the ears and on peak.

Quality
What's it like to ride? The shorts are very comfortable, the pad with its gel insert is excellent and the lycra is top quality. Similarly the jersey is made from good fabric and has a full zip which is useful for hot days. You can of course find cheaper kit but on the whole we think the kit offers great value given the quality of the materials, the stitching, durability and comfort. Club members have worn the gear in some of the longest races in Britain and abroad. Note this isn't an advert, just a personal view.

How to Order

Club member Keith Griffin handles the distribution of the kit. Email him - details in the members directory - or contact via the forum. Please use only email or the forum "private message" system to contact Keith, it allows the kit master to pick up the messages and respond to them at a convenient time, in the past we've had instances of people calling at strange hours.

You must pay in advance, either by cheque, cash or PayPal. We don't take credit cards. There are plenty of occaisons to collect the kit, whether at regular club nights or direct from Keith.

Please remember the club is not a business: there is no shop, no profit margin. Martin and Keith are volunteering to help with the kit distribution so please be kind and easygoing. Don't call at odd hours or expect them to be available round the clock to supply you. Remember, a convenient time for you to call them might not be ideal for them. They're happy to help here but note that there have been some unreasonable requests.

As of November 2010 the prices have risen. Note the club doesn't make any profit from the kit, the price rises are due to increased costs from the manufacturer in Italy.

Size Guide

The charts below are indicative, translating Italian sizes into inches is not a precise affair. Your cycling kit should be a tight but comfortable fit, remember a cycling jersey should be a snug fit, not loose fitting.
