Every month, we introduce one of the Kingston Wheelers. For November 2007, it's Jules Birks. From a cycling family, he's spent two seasons racing with in the south of France with First Division team US Montauban. Now he's joined the Kingston Wheelers... watch this space.

What made you start cycling? I've my dad to thank for getting me into cycling. My whole family cycle in some way shape or form.
Why did you join Kingston Wheelers? The website said it was a friendly club, and when I went along my first Sunday morning this was more than confirmed.
Date you joined the Club: October 2007
What bike do you ride? Currently I'm riding a Dynatech which was my team bike this year in France.
Give us a brief cycling background: I've kind of always cycled but I've been cycling seriously since I finished university. I spent two years cycling full time in France but a lack of results and a desire to do something else has brought me back to England. I am looking forward to cycling and racing just for fun.
Who is your inspiration? My ex-team mate and good friend Guiseppe Ribolizi is my biggest cycling inspiration. He was the team captain my first season in France and helped me incredibly. He is now professional in Switzerland.
What was your best day on the bike? The 2004 Etape de Tour goes down as my best and most enjoyable day on a bike, I rode with a friend and both of us just had incredible legs that day and went like motorbikes.
What was your worst day on the bike? I have had so many but the last couple of races this season were really awful.
What is your favourite cycling food? Homemade flapjacks.
Where is your favourite cycling location? Exmoor National Park for the views and climbs.

Least likely to say: "I'm just off to do some specific training."
