Isn't that slightly puzzling? If she is so quick, why isn't she a '5' number or a '0' number?

Having come from rowing into the track world maybe she hasn't got a decent 10 time, akaik that would be the sole basis for seeding.

They generally try to put the women in the field off together, to avoid them having different conditions, so maybe simply for that reason.

However she's not done a TT since 2007 and in any case her PB is only 21:29 in a 10 so it's very unlikely that she'll be seeded in many events. In the 10 particularly women are quite a bit slower than men, only 6 women have ever been under 21 minutes compared with dozens and dozens of men every year under 20 minutes.

So are you saying that Danny, Keith and I have a chance against her then?[Ha ha! thought not!]
It's not often you get the chance to race a Gold Medallist.......I hope she turns up.

21:29 is a bit odd, though. In the Olympic IP, her time per km was just 8% slower than Bradley Wiggins', albeit for only 75% of the distance. But still, it doesn't seem inconsistent with perhaps a 10% differential on a like for like basis, which is what we see between men and women in swimming. So she ought to be able to break 20 mins for a 10 given that Wiggo has gone sub 18. That also matches up nicely with Wendy Houvenhagel having done 19:50 and being almost the same speed as Rebecca in the IP.

Just seen that this was shortened to 8.1 miles due to roadworks. Glad I did the FCCC club 10 instead.

Impressed with Keith G's 19:48, all the same, 24.55mph, not bad at all!
