Planning to ride a sportive in 2010?

Rather than the usual poll this is to actually get a measure of who's interested in this for 2010 with a view to getting this side of the sport more organised, maybe to use the website to co-ordinate entries, share lifts and generally ensure we often ride together if that's what you'd like.

Good idea! Be good to have a definative list of what was going on!

I'm planning to do one, it's just that the entries seem to sell out so quickly!

I think so yes, if it doesn't sell out before I get around to it might try the dragon, even if it's the west valleys so is not *my* patch.

have to work it if it's worth it both money/time off.

I'm planning on doing a couple next year, I have about 8 on my list so far.

Including the usual: Dragon Ride, Legs "if" Steel, Southern Sportive, Magnificat(formaly Highclere). Happy to offer a lift for the ones were the family doesn't come with, but I tend to leave very early if not sleeping over.

I'd like to do more, may be 6 to 8, and like to do it with a group.

Happy to give lifts to a couple of others and their bikes.

Chris

I'm hoping to get a place on the 2010 Etap through work, so have entered the "Cheshire Cat" in March and also thinking of riding the "King of the Hills" and maybe the "Hampshire Hilly Hundred."

I suggested this a while ago but nobody was particularly enthusiastic but I'll try again now!
Couldn't we have a members only page with a calendar on it so that members could demonstrate their interest in a particular event by posting their names and then perhaps a list of those who had actually entered? All members would be able to see who is going to what event whether it's TT's, sportives, CX, road racing or [dare I mention it]triathlons or duathlons. Or is it a secret? Do members not want everyone knowing what they are doing? We could also have a link to a results page so for the Marmotte for example,we would see quite a few names appearing in November,a list in DEcember with all those who have entered and following the event, all the times and Bronze,Silver and Gold awards etc.
So two questions........1. Does anyone want this?
2. Can it be done easily without a webmaster spending thousands of pounds and man-hours on such a project?
