SUMMARY:Trails'n'Ales: Vol.3
DESCRIPTION:Vol. 3 of our charity gravel ride returns this May\, and it promises to be the most gravelly and gnarliest one yet. The money raised by the ride will be supporting our charity partners; the Full Cycle Community Bike Project and Kent Surrey Sussex Air Ambulance. The route takes on 110km of Surrey’s finest trails before finishing back at The Park Brewery for a taproom party and pizza from the Dough Shack. \nGravel Ride \nThe meeting point is Alpkit Kingston for roll out between 7-8am. We’ll have a bag drop at the start and transfer bags to The Park Brewery for the finish. The route will be heading along the tow path out to the North Downs and looping back on some classic Surrey trails. We recommend a suitable bike with gravel tyres that can handle a bit of mud. It’s a self-supported ride\, so make sure you are equipped with tools\, spare tubes and a bit of cash in case you need to bail out. We will send out the GPX the week before the ride to everyone who has signed up. \nTaproom Party \nWe’ll be kicking off the party from 1pm at The Park Brewery taproom. There will be food available and of course plenty of beers to sample from The Park Brewery’s excellent line-up. Even if you’re not riding you can still come on down and to enjoy a beer and watch the penultimate stage of the Giro in the taproom. You can park your bike at the brewery\, but we recommend bringing a cafe lock. \nFull Cycle Community Bike Project \nFull Cycle is an important community-run project with a mission to give people from all backgrounds access to affordable cycling by giving old bikes new life. Gary and the team will be along on the day to offer bike maintenance and chat about the project and how you can get involved. All profits will go towards the on-going running of this great project\, which relies on volunteers to keep it going. \nKSS Air Ambulance \nThe charity air ambulance serving Kent\, Surrey and Sussex. Over the past 35 years they have attended over 46\,000 incidents\, saving lives and improving patient outcomes. KSS helped one of our members who needed urgent treatment on a gravel ride last year\, so we’ve experienced the vital work they do first hand\, and continue to support this amazing charity. \n

SUMMARY:The Fifth Continent
DESCRIPTION:309km cycling event starting from Raynes Park. Controls at Wadhurst\, New Romney\, Ticehurst\, Pease Pottage Services and Raynes Park.\, plus 3 information controls. \nA challenging figure of eight ride to the unique location of Dungeness and back through the best Kent\, Sussex and Surrey countryside. We present this ride to this unique location to mark the 100th anniversary of the first BRM ride. \nEnjoy a breakfast at the start and leave the city behind before most are awake towards the first free control at Wadhurst. Then pass historic Rye before traversing the Romney Marsh to Dungeness with its numerous sights such at the steam railway\, lighthouses\, Derek Jarman’s cottage\, shingle and power station. Follow coast to Dymchurch via New Romney at the (approx) halfway point. \nOn the way\, there is a free control at Ticehurst before skirting Gatwick and a final control at Pease Pottage before a last hop over the North Downs and back to the arrivée where a hot meal will be served. \nEntry fee includes breakfast\, and a hot meal and real ale at the arrivée.

SUMMARY:The Hundred of Kingston
DESCRIPTION:The Hundred of Kingston or Kingston Hundred was an ancient hundred in the county of Surrey. It is also the name of a 100 mile randonnée to commemorate 100 years of Kingston Wheelers Cycling Club.\n\nAs well as a celebration of the club this is a classic route down towards the coast taking in many of the most iconic roads and climbs in the South of England. It is also an ideal introduction to audax rides as although at 100 miles it is shorter than the usual 200km (120 miles)\, it is run in exactly the same manner with a specified route and controls at set distances.\n\nStarting from the Alpkit Store (who are providing beverages) in Kingston’s Anglo Saxon centre you will enjoy some of the best roads where you will gather steam toward the South Downs\, stopping at the first control which is a catered brunch stop at the Bluebell Railway (entry price includes a breakfast bap and a drink plus a platform ticket). You will then take in the legendary Ditchling Beacon and Devils Dyke climbs in the South Downs before a short break at the Wildflour Cafe at Saddlescombe Farm NT. Once refreshed there is a straight run back up to the North Downs with controls at Shere and Ripley using some of the current and historic Kingston Wheelers club run routes.\n\nArrivée at The Park Brewery taproom where you will be provided with refreshment.

SUMMARY:Trails'n'Ales
DESCRIPTION:To celebrate our Centenary Pale Ale with The Park Brewery we are hosting a 100km gravel ride in Surrey and an afterparty at the taproom to launch the beer. \nAll profits from the event will be donated to Full Cycle Community Bike Project in New Malden whose mission is that every person\, from all walks of life\, should have access to their own affordable bike. \nAll riders taking part will receive a complimentary half of Pale Ale at the finish\, a “Shredding the Gnar” Gravel Patch and entered into a draw to win Alpkit and Le Col goodies. \nGravel Ride \nThe meeting point is Alpkit Kingston for roll out between 7-8am. We’ll have a bag drop at the start and transfer bags to The Park Brewery for the finish. \nThe route will be a bit of a Surrey classic taking in Peaslake\, Leith Hill and Stane Street. With plenty of off-roading\, we recommend a suitable bike with gravel tyres that can handle a bit of mud. \nIt’s a self-supported ride\, so make sure you are equipped with tools\, spare tubes and a bit of cash in case you need to bail out. \nThere will be an official coffee stop along the route and we’ll finish back at The Park Brewery taproom where there will be food on sale and a chance to sample our new Centenary Pale Ale. \nWe are currently planning the route and will send out the GPX the week before the ride to everyone who has signed up. \nTaproom Party \nWe’ll be kicking off the party from 1pm at The Park Brewery taproom. \nThere will be food available and of course plenty of beers to sample from The Park Brewery’s excellent line-up. \nEven if you’re not riding you can still come on down and crack a beer with us to celebrate the Centenary. \nThere is bike parking outside at the brewery\, but we recommend bringing a cafe lock. \nFull Cycle Community Bike Project \nAn important community-run project we are supporting this year\, which aims to give people from all backgrounds access to affordable cycling by giving old bikes new life. \nGary and the team will be along on the day to offer bike maintenance and chat about the project and how you can get involved. \nAll profits will go towards the on-going running of this great project\, which relies on volunteers to keep it going.
