Ride for 75: Zwiftathon

On Saturday we kicked off the Ride for 75 fundraiser for Kingston Hospital with a virtual Zwiftathon, which saw club members take to their turbo trainers to ride 75 miles in support of the NHS. It was a big boost to our fundraising efforts, which saw our total donations hit £2,000 on the day.

We were supported by Anne and Simon from Waldy Wheelers, plus a guest appearance from Thomas Perren from the NeXT eSports team. You can hear him talk about his experience racing in esports, designing pro kit and his recovery after being hit by a car on the Facebook live feed:

In summary we had 21 people taking part clocking up 1,986 kilometres. 11 people hit 75 miles or more, which is no mean feat on a turbo. There were plenty of tight hamstrings on Sunday.

Big shout out to Hans who not only did his ride on the Alpe du Zwift but also did an impromptu Everesting, clocking up 9,000 metres in elevation. Give him some kudos here.
